Industrial Designer for Modular Crossbody Bag System

Job Description We are looking for an experienced industrial designer or bag designer to create concept sketches for a new modular everyday carry system. The project is for a new brand called WAYDAY, focused on urban everyday preparedness. The product is a crossbody bag system designed to help people stay organized and prepared for everyday situations. This project is concept-stage only. We are primarily looking for high-quality concept sketches that explore shape, proportions, pocket placement and modular interior organization. The goal is to translate our detailed design brief into strong visual design concepts. About the Product WAYDAY is a modular crossbody bag system built around removable pouch modules: READY – small first aid essentials POWER – powerbank, cable, flashlight UTILITY – everyday tools and unexpected items The bags are designed to be: • minimalist • urban lifestyle oriented • highly organized • visually clean • non-tactical The system includes three bag sizes with removable modules. A full design brief with dimensions, features and design direction will be provided. What We Need We are looking for concept exploration of: • overall bag form and proportions • exterior panel layout • zipper placement • quick access pocket design • strap attachment design • interior modular pouch system • visual balance and aesthetics Deliverables • 4–6 concept design directions • hand sketches or digital concept sketches • front / side / perspective views • one interior layout concept showing the modular pouch system These do not need to be final production drawings. The focus is strong design thinking and visual exploration. Nice to Have Experience designing: • bags • backpacks • EDC products • outdoor or lifestyle accessories Portfolio examples of bag or soft-goods design are strongly preferred. Project Scope Short concept design project. Estimated workload: 10–15 hours.
